ICLR&D is a legal information research and development lab based in London at the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for England and Wales, publisher of the authorised law reports of judgments decided in England and Wales.

The Lab is a dedicated environment for exploring and improving the entire primary law eco-system, with a particular focus on case law. We fuse design, data science, legal scholarship and agile development principles in an open and collaborative setting.

Our major research campaigns take the form of long-term Projects that focus on discrete themes, such as the application of natural language processing to legal texts, through to the use of plain language and graphic design to improve the accessibility of primary legal materials.

ICLR&D Projects are long-term research and development campaigns being undertaken by the Lab. Each Project focuses on a discrete research area. We publish our work and progress in each project on our blog and as updates on the relevant Project page.
